A long time ago now, when the girls were smaller. Throw in Michael's mum who is facing cancer and mortality and the story becomes a vivid portrayal of the anguish, pain and agonizing decisions that have to be made to manage the break up of a family. My grandfather is a popular singer and songwriter from the seventies, and my grandmother is a best-selling romance author who has written over one hundred books, twenty of them turned into television movies. I'm being ridiculous and hyper-sensitive because Jason was nasty to me. The wind is brutal on my hair and turns it into a tumbleweed in less than five minutes of being on the bike. Kate and Michael have been married for a long time. I'll love it even more once it's on his head. That would have made for a re-read. But Kenzi Allyster Valentine would change us all forever. It impacts on everyone around them, the ripples of their break-up affecting their young daughters, their parents, their friends. Every single aspect of this novel was dealt with beautifully, every emotion described faultlessly, and I was wholly dedicated to the characters within.Next
She walked out and saw her sisters leaning over the countertop, laughing at whatever Dalia or Dana had said. Me: No, I'm not in the mood for a party. For a split second, he wished she were here, her arms about him. I also like to write romantic comedy, letting the characters have a bit of flirty fun too! When Michael walks out on his wife Kate and their two young children into the arms of another woman, Kate is left to pick up the pieces. He leant against the doorframe, his head hung low, I never meant to hurt you, Kate. This book deals with the aftermath of Michael leaving his wife and children and how their lives all change to adapt to this, amongst a few other things thrown into the mix. It is a very simple, easy to read story that is quite touching at times, with characters whose lives you get really drawn into.Next
