I am always interested in reducing my backspin on the ball, as this works best for me. Again, when I am dropping 500+ dollars on a club, its the performance that matters. The driver also features the intuitive FlexLoft adjustability system which allows golfers to alter the loft from 8. Looks With the , Nike has produced a driver that really appeals to our testers. The new review system is great and in the long run will help those of us make a more educated decision so keep up the good work. When we remove him from the equation, however, the group average improves to 15. If I were playing a wide range of course that preferred a left-to-right and the inverse at the next course adjustibility might make sense.Next
This information is used as the foundation for our total subjective score. I must say, they have come along way in the last couple of years. Most rated it 9 or better although there was, as there often is a 7 in the mix. The sole channel a new technology that is keen on increasing ball speed. Oh yea, I also like where the ball lands. No biggie for me since the first thing I do with a new club is chunk the headcovers so I can put on my wool or leather headcovers.Next
The Nike head is a grey metallic color but honesty I would not care if it was green as long as I keep picking up the extra yards. Why then am I a picking up so many yards? Nike will not be there when you need them! Like the lower ball flight, I know, I thought the draw setting would provide the lower ball flight. These irons are great for a scratch to 12 handicapper. I find centre hits are easier to achieve and the resulting ball speed much more apparent. So if the 430cc worked for me, I would bag it! The stunning red head conceals the cavity beautifully, and it really is a very classic shape at address.Next
The cavity in the 460cc head, visible from the sole only, has been engineered so that more weight can be moved to the heel and toe of the driver, ensuring more stability at impact, greater forgiveness and better results on off-centre strikes. This is what Nike call high speed cavity back technology, and apparently its the worlds first high speed cavity back conforming driver in the world which delivers longer and straighter shots. Most everyone else rated the club an 8+, which to me, sounds fair enough. This driver delivered the best ball flight and lowest spin rate of all the other driver for my swing. I would recommend a traditional driver fitting paying close attention to the shaft choices and loft. However, since I predominately play three courses where neither ability is preferred, adjusting the club is more often than not a band-aid for a swing change or more likely, flaw. This is also becoming more popular among average to advanced amateur golfers who seek precision in their scoring clubs, but a little more distance, forgiveness and consistency in their longer irons.
For the rest of you…hell, the rest of us, the might prove to be something really, really special. While it may allow for easier club removal, it also tends to let the driver float around more than I want it to. Your distance numbers were not that different from what I was able to read in the earlier review, so please, share with us what was the main cause for the change? I bought the I Mix because of this, but after trying a bunch of different shafts I found that once you get the right one, quit changing. You could also fix a slice by setting the face in a closed position. Toss in some 6s and 7s, and things shake out a bit below average. Unique player insights and demanding standards have helped produce a club that delivers Tour-level distance with maximum workability.

Once I adjusted the club properly, I was able to work the ball right or left on demand. They remind me of Ben Hogan now. It makes sense and also looks good. This Nike driver ousted the mighty Adams 9064 from your bag? The Nike version appears to be a bit softer at the tip, and probably has a higher torque rating. Actually, looking at the survey responses, what we have is a somewhat polarizing club.Next
And while certainly I get the whole 430cc, tour performance bit, the reality is the is for anyone who wants a workable driver that sound and feels pretty good. Collected my R1 last Thursday, have spent a few hours up the range with the club since and I'm lost for words to describe how good this club is. Quite frankly, I may have given some bonus points for the hosel. All of the wear is purely cosmetic, and will not in any way affect the performance of the club. The feel is still quite solid but I think the compression channel takes the harshness out of the impact. I am always tinkering with my set and my two fairway woods are older Titleists that I have reshafted several times each to keep them current. But the grips Nike put on these clubs are terrible — you hit a couple of shots and it feels like club slips out of your hands every one of my friends immediately commented about the shitty grips when they tried it — i dont understand how you can sell your top-end product with such a crappy grip….Next
