I tried changing my settings to allow gpu on vegas and changed how much dynamic ram I have. I've tried to tweak the nvidia settings on the control panel to high performance but it didn't garner any improvement. It is the only leading software program that is giving tough time to other alternative software like as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro.
I've tried uninstalling vegas, clearing the cahce and manually deleting its files from my pc, which doesnt seem to work. It's good that we have so many choices these days. You're running an older quad core that doesn't compare to newer i5's in terms of power. Also, it does not matter what Quality that preview window setting is it still does it if using color correction. Once encoded rendered they should play at full speed. GoPro video - using raw GoPro video is notorious for being laggy in any video editing program, so converting to something like Cineform is what you should do. What version and build of Vegas Pro? It will run on Windows rendering which is far worse than hardware acceleration.Next
Try the options I mention in the post above. I will admit that 4 often ends up being the cause of lag for myself, when I am working with a video coming from a different source to what I use to. My computer struggle to load it on Draft Half at 650 by 350 display size. Ideally, you should have a constant 30 forÂ your media. Video editing is a pretty intensive task regardless which program you use. Secondly, it has enhanced more than 300 individual filters and effects to work with subtitles and text layers alike. Here is the simplest way to understand this: How long did it take to render your project? It can efficiently perform real time to edit for video and sound at the same time. Then comes my first problem: I want to start up my project and when it's loaded to 100% the cursor change to the circle loading but my project doesn't load, like Sony Vegas is frozen. If it still lags after that, then its probably your footage. Its just a struggle on my part to process and edit it as my eyes bleed. Crazy that programs a 16th of the cost can handle this. An X-file - something on your computer not the program has changed and is affecting how Vegas works.

When lag starts to occur for experienced video editors, the process of elimination begins - medication, booze or lots of coffee may be required. If your not adding overlays, effects or transitions than I am not sure what is going on here. If it does, make sure your drivers are updated and try it again. Mp4s are harder for your computer to process and will cause your computer to lag if you aren't using a very powerful machine. With regard to laptops, real power in video processing requires more than a laptop will deliver. Having one drive for source media and a separate physical drive for the output media may help reduce some of that bandwidth issue. I can even run intense effects in preview and they run perfectly. Have faith that Vegas will do what you want it to do. Have a look at some possible solutions here. Something that I may be missing?
